The Profit and Loss comparison report opens up many options for you as a user of Farmplan Business Cloud to easily track patterns and spot trends within your accounts.

This multi purpose tool gives you the power to choose any date period, enterprise or tag combination and compare it with one or more other combinations. The report generated within the system can be drilled into further to see where the figures have come from, or can be exported as a PDF (limited to 7 comparisons) or excel report if required.

How does it work?

Head to Reports | Profit and Loss Comparison (or Reports | All Reports | Profit and Loss Comparison if the report isn't set as a 'favourite' report).

In the screen that appears, make selections on what information you require. This could be comparing different enterprises, or the same enterprise over different years, or to simply run monthly or quarterly P&L for the whole business.

If you have one comparison (Primary data and Comparison #1) then you will get a variance column to show the difference between the 2 selections. If you have 2 or more comparisons then you will not get a variance column.

Once you have made your selections and clicked filter, the results will be presented below. All figures are shown in blue, and can be drilled into further to see how the total figures are made up.

Selections can be easily re-ordered by dragging and dropping each line into it's new order.

When adding or changing selections, the filter button will change to orange. Once the filter button has been clicked, and the report has been updated, the filter button will change to a green colour, so that you know you have updated the report with the new selections.

Exporting Reports

It is possible to export the reports in either a PDF or CSV format. Please note that a report can only be exported to PDF if there are 7 comparisons or fewer. There is no limit on the number of comparisons that can be viewed in system or exported to CSV.
